Where It Belongs is a series of portraits made in Tunisia, focusing on Jewish individuals returning to Tunis to reconnect with their origins. Some were settling back, others were visiting family homes or revisiting places linked to their family history. The work was developed during my time in Tunisia (2022-2024) and came to a pause when I returned to France. Since then, these movements back and forth have significantly decreased in the international context of ongoing violence and systems of occupation in Palestine. ********************* Where It Belongs est une série de portraits réalisée en Tunisie, centrée sur des personnes juives revenant à Tunis pour renouer avec leurs origines. Certaines s’y réinstallaient, d’autres visitaient des maisons familiales ou revisitaient des lieux liés à leur histoire familiale. Le travail s’est développé durant mon séjour en Tunisie (2022–2024) et s’est interrompu lors de mon retour en France. Depuis, ces allers-retours se sont nettement raréfiés dans le contexte international de la violence et des systèmes d’occupation en Palestine.
